So, we’ve had 12 showings in 10 days. No offers yet. One of the agents had come twice – not sure if it’s with the same client or not.
Guess we’ll have to wait and see when and for how much the offer will be…

Well, since the house is now finalized – YAY – it’s time for the house to go on the market. The condo went up on the TREB system this past Friday. It ended up showing up on MLS some point on Saturday.
Since then, I’ve setup the virtual tour photos, multimedia, etc.
Today is day 6 that it’s been on the market, and we’ve had 6 showings thus far, and another one booked for tomorrow.
Hopefully the people are taking a look at the other 2 corner-units for sale in the building so that they can see the value of mine.
Take a look at these links…

Well, Apple finally announced the product launch of the Apple iPhone. It’s an iPod, Telephone, and internet communicator all in one. It looks somewhat similar to the Dell Axim, but this is also a telephone!
iWant one of these… it’s the ultimate in geekdom. The phone runs a version of OS X, which means that it would be fairly easy to develop applications for it – similar to WM2005 or WinCE.
So, what’s the problem? I’m in Canada! Yup… Apple finally released a product that’s been speculated about for years, and it’s not going to be available until June, and apparently only being released in the US via Cingular.
What’s the other problem? It’s only being released in a GSM version.
Why is that a problem? I’m with Bell Mobility which is CDMA. You cannot use a GSM phone on a CDMA network. Bell – GET WITH THE TIMES!
So why not switch to Rogers or Fido? I can’t do that because in Canada the CRTC has not made phone number portability possible – yet anyways. Supposedly this is something that will be in place come March 2007. Check out the CRTC press release from December 20, 2005.
So why not switch when the phone is available in Canada as it will be after March 2007? I’m on a corporate plan that I doubt Rogers would be willing to match. The last time I spoke with someone at Rogers, the best they were able to do was $15 more a month than what I’m paying now.
Phone specs:
- 4GB ($499 US) or 8GB ($599 US) versions
- 3.5″ screen
- 320×480 @160ppi
- Quad-band
- Wifi (802.11b/g)
- EDGE
- Bluetooth 2.0
- 2MP camera w/ video
- sync via iTunes on either Mac or PC
- 4×5″ x 2.4″ x 0.46″ = 115mm x 61mm x 11.6mm
- 4.8oz = 135gr
- playback of music, photos, and video
- rotate the device, and it goes into widescreen – part of the built-in sensors
- calls, voicemail, sms
- Safari, e-Mail, live maping via Google maps, widgets
Fallout since the Apple annoucement
- Cisco announces that the iPhone trademark belongs to them, and is launching a lawsuit against Apple
- The day of the announcement RIM stock dropped $14/share
- Announcement day Apple stock went up 8%
Anyways, check out the iPhone… it’s HOT!

Yardena, Rosalee, and I went out on Saturday night. We figured we would go to a coffee house. We headed downtown to Queen and John. The streets were almost completely parked in. I headed into a parking lot where there was a sign that said $9 earlybird. I figured since it was 8:30 on a Saturday night, that it would be considered earlybird as it was earlier than the clubs and other venues start to pick up. I hand the attendant $9, and he said “it’s another $10″. I told him forget it. I left the parking lot, and after another minute or so I found street parking. Because it was close to 8:30 (parking is free after 9 p.m.) we only had to pay for a 1/2 hour. Cost? A whopping $1! I saved $19!
We ended up at the Starbucks at Queen & John. We hung out there for at least 1.5 hours. Drinking our beverages, and chatting. Around 10:30 we decided to head out onto the streets. Trying to figure out where we wanted to go, we ended up walking to the upstairs Rivoli. We had a drink or two and listed to some really great music. Kudos to the DJ! I knew nearly every song over the course of the hour that we were there. We were getting ready to meet up with Yardena’s sister and some of her friends, and the DJ put on this amazing song. It had a grassroots vibe that was just great. I approached the DJ and he said that it was an album “he’s played the hell out of”. It’s Paradigm by Osunlade. I have to get my hands on that album. It’s truly amazing. I suggest that you listen to it. Too bad that the iTunes music store doesn’t have it. I’ll have to find it somewhere else. Maybe HMV will have it.
We met up with Orly (Yardena’s sister) and her friends at a pool hall/bar called Safari. We left around 2ish to head home.

Well, after a lot of math (an insane excel spreadsheet) lots of research, and 1 of Rosalee’s friends buying a house, we bought one too. It’s a brand new development – which means we can have everything the way we want (well nearly – we can’t change major things to the house).
Anyways, I won’t get into all the details, but here are some pictures from yesterday of our lot – #128!
We should be moving in 366 days… if everything goes according to schedule – which apparently never happens. I guess we’ll see.
The development area:

Apparently we have a swimming pool???

Us with our communal pool – man was it windy!

Well… we made it back! We hit Best Buy, Sport Mart, The Source, HMV, Foot Locker, and Zellers. And we were home by 9:15!
This year went pretty well, nearly bought a ton of stuff that I didn’t want/need/have a place for – some of the prices on things were VERY good. Oh well… maybe next year!
Here’s a picture of the line-up at Best Buy from 3:40 a.m. today – that’s when Elliott and I arrived… We were #51 & 52 in the line, which meant that we were part of the first group into the store – which meant that we were able to get everything that we wanted to get. All in all – very successful.

The way they had it setup, made no sense. I had to wait in a line-up inside for approx. 30-minutes to purchase an item that I had the reservation paper for (got that while waiting in line), then I went to line-up in another line by the car audio. After 20-min. in that line, I asked a sales rep. if I was in the right spot, they said that I have to drive the car around to the back to get the TV, not wait in the line. There was some serious miscommunication going on.
We finally checked out – about 2 hours after entering the store – what a disaster that was. Elliott saw a guy checking people out on the side – from one of the computers, so I went to join him. It was taking next to forever. We left that line after approx. 25-min. of not moving anywhere, to join the main line. About 1/2 way through that line, we were by the Customer Service desk, and the lady there said that we can get checked out by them. So we veer out of the main line, and we were next in line (vs. 30th or so), to find out that the guy ahead of us wanted to pay with like 3 credit cards for his stinkin’ PSP, and the other guy was complaining to the CSR about pictures he ordered, and how they’re not ready, and he wants them – but the system told him Dec. 30. The other lady – the one who told us to go into the CS line – was busy with some other shmoe. We finally go through, out, loaded up the car with tons of bargoons, drove around to the back, go the TV, and headed off to continue to the rest of our planned stops.
Time for a nap!

Yup… I believe this is the 4th year of the annual “wakeup at 3 a.m. and go boxing day shopping” extravaganza!
What’s on the list this year?
- 26 or 27″ plasma/LCD tv
- arm wall mount for the plasma/LCD
- 2 laptops (sub $700 range – there are quite a few)
- 15 or 17″ LCD widescreen tv
- wireless keyboard and mouse combo
- star trek series dvd’s
- running shoes
- chandelier
Most of the items are for family or friends… so I guess I’ll see if I can live up to the reputation I’ve earned from the past few years. Hopefully, nobody will be let down.
Best of luck to those of you strong enough to fight your way through the concrete jungle of stores to get your discounted items. I know I’ll be sporting my hockey gear…

So we’ve been talking about playing road hockey during lunch for a few weeks now. Today was the day we were going to do it.
4 of us headed out with a recycling bin and a milk crate (our 2 nets), a tennis ball, and 4 sticks. 2 more joined in about 2-3 minutes later – they had to make it down from their offices.
I figured it would be about 10-minutes until security was able to make it down to tell us to leave. Needless to say, I wasn’t all that far off with my time estimate. Just under 10-minutes, and he was out there. Something about liability and cars. We were playing in the shipping and receiving area.
Anyways, we’re going to try it again on Monday… I’ll keep you posted with what’s going on then…
