Wow! What a tremendous show of support for such a great cause. Because of your donations, my original goal was completely destroyed! I’ve surpassed the original $500 goal, and upped it to $750. Well, that $750 goal has come and gone, and now I’ve set a new goal, and I’m hoping that those of you who have not yet donated can help me hit the $1000 mark!
$1000 will…
- teach 25 families how to save a life with CPR;
- teach 30 classrooms of children the foundation for heart-healthy living with the HeartSmart Kids program;
- administer 2 Automated External Defibrillator training courses that could save lives; or
- equip a doctor with a blood pressure monitor to help keep patients healthy.
Please have your donation completed on this Sunday (June 5) as I’m doing the ride on June 6.

If you’ve already donated, I just want you to know how much I appreciate it. Those of you who have not donated, it’s not too late. In either event, please pass this on to everyone you know.
Remember, donations over $10 will receive a tax receipt.
Thank you so much for your amazing response!

As of this evening, the Toronto Maple Leafs (err.. Laughs) are at the bottom of the NHL with a 0-6 record to start off the 2009 season.
I know the real reason why the Leafs franchise was against moving an NHL team to Hamilton. They were worried that a new team would win the Stanley Cup before them!
Leafs, you’re my home team. I love you guys. I’ve paid a lot of money in the past for seats to the games. But I’m losing faith in you.
I’ve decided that I’m going to have a rally-beard. I’m not going to shave until the Leafs win 1 game in the regular season. I haven’t shaved since October 8. I guess the beard is better than what some people do during playoffs – not changing or washing their socks or shirts – gross AND stinky!
Anyways, if anyone wants to see me clean shaven, it looks like it’s going to be in a few weeks at this rate!

So the 2009 baseball season has come to a close this evening. This year was filled with a lot of drama, many losses, arguments, people quitting, and more losses.
I would say the biggest problem lies with personality conflicts, and those disturbances between just a couple of players is what brought down the moral across the board.
As for me, I feel that I did as well as I could have. I got many RBI’s, lots of hits, and made many great plays.
I finished off the season going 4 for 5, and bringing in 5 RBI’s. My last at bat I pounded the ball over the outfielder and made it to the fence – 2 RBI’s and a standing double.
So as the story goes, I’m now a free agent, and I’m being scouted by 2 other leagues. 1 is in Thornhill, and the other in Toronto.
I’ll have to weigh the options, and make my decision fairly soon. At the moment, I’m leaning towards the Thornhill league – but who knows..

He shoots, he scores!
‘Green Machine’ won their first game of the second round by a massive 9-4 victory. I had a great goal – picked up the puck on a drop-pass, held it and slapped it in the top corner, from 25-ft out and through a crowd of 8 players. I also managed to get two assists. Go #9!
Congrats team, and on to game 2 next week.

About time
Thursday June 25 marked a great day in Durham College and the University of Ontario Instutitue of Technology’s golf history. The tournament, set at the Summerlea Golf Club in Port Perry, saw team “Dearly Departed” fight their way to the top of the pack by shooting an amazing -9, and finishing with a final score of 49.
Congratulations to everyone on the team – Tony, Justin, Michelle, and myself.

Canadian women’s hockey team strikes gold! Make that a hat-trick!
Well, game three of our summer season, and this loss is worse than the preceeding two losses. Game one was a 5-10 loss (I played this game, and got a goal), game two was a 4-9 loss (I was not at that game).
Although the official score has yet to be released, the game sheet ran out of room for the other teams goals. We estimate that the final score was 18-1. On a positive note, I’m the reason they didn’t get a shut out! So far, I’ve got two goals in two games!
It was good to get back on the ice…
