Free 411 listings via 1.800.GOOG.411

Google launched their free 411 service Goog-411 in Canada with full Canadian listings.

How does it work?
You simply dial 1.800.GOOG.411 from any phone, and talk into the system. Using their voice recognition they’ll respond with several listings. Not only that, but they’ll connect you directly for free!

  • I forgot to mention, it’s basically like calling long-distance for free to companies!

I guess that one is nice too. But, there is an easier way to get a phone number which I discovered very recently. Instead of calling for directory assitance, you can just do it by textin. Simply type the requested listing along with the city and state/provice and send it to ASK411 or 275411. You will receive the answer to your inquiry in a text message as well.Their service is free until January 31. I believe they do it for promo. They said that charges after the said free period will only go up to 50 cents per text. So thats quite cheap compared to other 411 services!
